| | Eureka is famous for
its wonderfully restored opera house and other old buildings.
September 8, 2002

What a warm welcome we received in Eureka! The antire school population gathered outside to greet us and several students offered Breezy carrots. She very much enjoyed the special treat!

After demonstrating my extra-loud Pony Express whoop and holler
(as the riders might have done as they approached the stations at full tilt), we all moved inside to the cafeteria for a chat.
Dani joined me for the question and answer session and I was most impressed with the excellent questions!
After pulling some special draw prizes from one of the cantinas, we stayed for a little while for a book signing
before taking Breezy back to the fairgrounds for a rest. Later today we're taking her to visit the local vet to get him to have a look at her hip, still a little sore today.
